Link to TrailBlazersCenterCourt.com story

Apparently you get paid to dunk on Greg Oden. According to a recent TrailBlazersCenterCourt.com story, players around the league are offering a reward to their teammates for dunking on Greg Oden. John Salmons gave K-Mart (above) $1000 dollars for doing the nasty on Greg Oden (no not like that). Not only does he expose Greg for not being the unstoppable shotblocker he's known for, he also exposed him by enabling the cameraman to snap a pic of Oden from behind, showing the world that bald spot. This proves that he IS NOT 20 years old, but atleast 30 like I knew all along. LOL, j/k, But back to the reward. Ricky Davis offers $500 (chump change Ricky. Get a new agent to get a better deal) to his Clippers teammates to do the same. And why not? Greg Oden has yet to play a minute of NBA basketball (refer ro Rob's post about his NBA regular season debut), but he DID average 3.3 blocks in college. He IS compared to the great Bill Russell, one of the best shot blockers of all time. Im curious to see if any other teams are doing this. I would like to see some highflyers get that money and put Greg Oden in a SLAM Magazine's Slamadamonth. I love Greg Oden (no homo) because he's on my fantasy team, but players being motivated to dunk on him is a great thing for all NBA fans like myself.

P.S. John Salmons sholdve given him like $750. This barely counts as a "dunk on". Greg's to the side. Ch'mon Lee!

The NBA is back in full effect, and TNT is hosting two of NBA's first three games of the night; Boston @ Cleveland, and Portland @ Los Angeles.

First game of the night, we have the Boston Celtics taking on the Cleveland LeBrons.(Basically a one man team). I bet LeBron is going to be pissed seeing KG, Ray and Paul slipping those rings on their fingers. Hopefully LeBron has a monster game, I need his fantasy stats.

If you have NBA league pass, you can watch Chicago grown Derrick Rose play against the new look Bucks which features new Point Guard Luke Ridnour and new Small forward Richard Jefferson(when is he going to come out of the closet).

After the Celtics and Cavs game is done on TNT, it is followed up by my favorite game of the night. We have the stacked and up and coming Portland Trailblazers taking on the Western Conference champs; the Los Angeles Lakers, but this time, they have their missing piece of the puzzle back; Andrew Bynum, who looks like a massive tank since rehab.

Something about the picture is so bad ass(Below), it's like, i'm going to molest you and there is nothing you can do about it.

Anyways, the Blazers had the upper hand in their last meeting on April 02 of 2008, Brandon Roy had 23 points and tied his career-high in Assists with 12, and LaMarcus Aldridge contributed with 22 points and 11 rebounds, I expect Kobe to not let his team go 0-1 in their quest for a championship.

Lastly, after all the NBA games are done, Ernie, Kenny and Charles are back to host the greatest television show on earth: "Inside the NBA", which is a combination of basketball, opinions, highlights and humor; a recipe to create an entertaining sports show.

Tomorrow is going to be the beginning of another NBA journey.

Zeke and Sanders

Link to RealGM article

Ouuuch. Anucha Browne Sanders hit Zeke heavy with her comments about his "apparent" overdose. She said "he had it coming". Damn. I mean, I dont think you can feel bitter after getting millions of his dollars, cmon. Dude deserved to almost die? Have some class woman.

Speakin about this subject, WTF was Isaiah thinkin blaming this on his daughter? This reminds me the family guy episode Peter told the public Meg crashed into the TV tower when he did it. HAHAHA. Maybe Isaiah bribed his daughter like Peter did. It seems Isaiah cant do anything right these days. He was one of the greatest players of all time, but he shouldve stayed retired and enjoy his money. Shouldnt have fucked with the CBA or the Knicks. Jerome James Isaiah? Get the fuck out.

And BTW, this dude said this girl was "easy on the eyes"? Isaiah has bad taste in women as well as players.

Hhahaha. I love this commercial. It premiered yesterday to coincide
with the game's release. I'd consider getting it if they confirmed I
could use my Rock Band drums for the game. I dont feel like
spending $190 AGAIN for a video game. The Xbox 360 Rock Band
drum kit IS compatible, but no word on the Wii version (*crosses
fingers). I loooove how they got athletes who are the best at what
they do. Its good to see a side of Kobe we havent seen. Also that
he's getting back into the commercial game, especially after all the
bullshit he went through. Its funny that they got A-Rod too. I guess
you have a lot of time on your hands if your team doesnt make the
playoffs (oOoOoOoh!). Michael Phelps is hilarious too. Dudes gettin
into it on that couch. LMAO, great commercial for a great game.

The Other Coby

No story here. Apparently none of these guys deserve a story. On realgm.com, 5 out of the 10 "headlines" are about players getting waived. It's about that time, and these guys should have seen it coming. The season is near, and there just isnt any room for these guys. Its sad really. Being around these NBA players all summer, working hard everyday in practice, thinking youre actually going to play in the NBfuckinA. Only to get cut 2-3 days before the season starts. The cutting of players like Coby Karl hits Laker fans (like myself) pretty hard. He was nicknamed "The Human Victory Cigar", because the only time he gets to play is if the Lakers have an insurmountable lead. Coby worked hard, played hard, and wasnt that bad of a player (he looked like his last name was "Bryant" when he played for the L.A. D-Fenders in the D-League). The fact is, he's decent enough to play in the League IMHO, but not with one of the best teams in the League. It's hard for these guys to find the right "fit".

The PERFECT fit however was for Patrick Ewing Jr. and the Knicks. Daddy is a legend in NY, and Junior looked like he deserved to make the team (a couple of exciting dunks and a 3 made him an immediate fan favorite). Again, the Knicks are in a bad situation. Ewing Jr. is definitely good enough to be on the team, but they have guys like Jerome James who's basically being paid millions of dollars to get injured an watch NBA games courtside. It's bullshit for players who have the talent to play in the NBA, but get waived because of shit like that.

Among those being waived recently are:

Adrian Griffin (dont care)
Rob Kurz (who the fuck?)
Malik Hairston (Uhh)
Gerry McNamara (was decent in college)
David Padgett (hmm)
Jason Richards (...)
Darius Miles (ouch son)

Allas Mavericks

Via Star-Telegram

Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki aren't fazed by all this talk of the Celtics and Lakers meeting in the Finals once again; they believe the Mavericks can win it all.

"Our goal is not to make the playoffs. Our goal has to be a championship team. We can’t be satisfied just making the playoffs," Nowitzki said.

"We’re not that far off," Dirk added. "If we can run this offense and stay solid defensively, we can play with anybody in this league."

Kidd, who only played half of the season in Dallas last year, agrees with his teammate.

"I agree with Dirk. We don’t talk about making the playoffs. We talk about winning a championship. If you talk about it and see it, it helps it become reality. If you get in that position, you have to take advantage of it. And we’re going to try to take advantage of it," Kidd said.

Good joke JKidd and Dirky Dirk. Okay, the Mavs said they were being 'held back' by Avery Johnson, and now that he's an analyst on TNT or ESPN or whatever and not coaching, they think they got a chance with Rick Carlisle. Personally, I dont think they can. Sure they can say JKidd came in the middle of the season last year, and now that he went through training camp theyve gelled. Like dealing with extra small condoms, I dont buy it. Josh Howard has too many off-court issues he needs to deal with. JKidd's gonna do his thing, but he's 35 (will be 36 when their supposed "title run" begins in the playoffs). Dirk is the man, but I dont believe he can do it himself. They have guys like Gerald Green who will continue to put guys on posters, but Eric Dampier will continue looking like he's on the receiving end of a Hyperdunk advertisement. They dont have much depth after that. This is just my opinion. They have a chance of course, but the Lakers, Hornets, Rockets etc. are gonna make it hard for the Mavs. Like the Spurs, Pistons, maaaybe Suns? I think the window for winning a championship is closed.

Pop

Finally. Spur's Coach Gregg Popovich shaved that ridiculous beard. He said it was up to Tim Duncan to decide the fate of his beard. I guess Mr. Fundamental didnt like the feeling of the beard against his ass when Pop would - Ah nevermind. Haha, just joking.

Kobe

Link to article

Finally, Kobe speaks up about how pissed he is about gettin waxed by the Celts in the Finals. Heeerrre we go. I watched a Kobe interview recently, and he was asked to give a message to all L.A. Laker fans (like myself) and he simply said "Buckle Up!". Oooouuuwweee wowoweeee Kobe's gonna come hard this time around Celtics. The main thing though is to get back into the Finals. We'll have to wait and see. But in the mean time, let's buckle up.

Lamar
via Los Angeles Daily News

Lamar Odom has had a change of heart and is now fine with the role of sixth man in Los Angeles.

"Really comfortable," Odom said of his new role. "Whatever the team needs me to do, that's what I'm going to do. To be successful and play for championships, that doesn't come around too often, you know what I'm saying? Whatever it takes.

"You know, I'm a humble dude. I put my ego aside."

Okay, so Lamar Odom is okay with comin' off the bench. I think it's a good thing, and says a lot about the Lakers. Not every team in the league has a player like Odom coming off the bench. Hopefully this will motivate Lamar to play better this season. And LOL @ Lamar not even riding the bench, but the floor! OWNED!
