Oden injures foot in first game; will have MRI wednesday.
Tonight was not the debut any rookie in any league would have wanted. Rookie center Greg Oden of the Trailblazers started off the game with two quick fouls in the first five minutes of the game and was then benched for the rest of the quarter. He then came back in the second quarter only to to suffer a mid-foot sprain, and will have an MRI on wednesday. Oden twisted his foot after fighting for a rebound with Laker's Center Andrew Bynum. Oden then spoke about it in the media and said he "Landed on the side of Fisher's foot.". Is Greg Oden going the path of Sam Bowie; another beloved big man in college who's career was plagued by injruies? Or is Greg Oden really a 40 year old man? We either need to see the results on his injury, or see his date of birth.
The good news? The injury seemed like a freak accident and Oden still played about four minutes after the injury, so at least he was still able to run with it before calling it quits.
Greg Oden finished the game with 0 points, 5 rebounds on 0-4 shooting in 12 minutes and 51 seconds.
